Prayer Activities Tirtayatra Bali Orthopaedic Team at Pura Narmada Lombok
Tirtayatra comes from Sanskrit, Tirta and Yatra. Tirta means bath, river, chastity, water, toya or holy water, holy river. In everyday life, the notion of tirta leads to the form of water. Meanwhile, Yatra is themeaning of holy travel. Thus, the meaning of Tirtayatra is a sacred journey activity in the context of self-purification by birth and birth. Tirtayatra will increase the confidence or srada of the people in the truth and omnipotence of Ida Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa. In fact, humans have maintained the three aspects of harmony in the world, namely Tri Hita Karana, namely the aspects of pawongan, palemahan and parahyangan.
On Saturday, February 18, 2023, the extended family of the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana Bali, had the opportunity to hold a Tirtayatra prayer event at Narmada Temple, Lombok. Narmada Temple is one of the eight old temples on the island of Lombok. The characteristic of this temple is the top of the temple which is shaped similar to a stepped punden as a replica of Mount Rinjani. This activity was attended by dr. I Wayan Suryanto Dusak, SpOT (K) as Head of the Department of KSM Orthopaedics and Traumatology, Dr. dr. Made Bramantya Karna, SpOT (K), dr. Anak Agung Ngurah Ronny Kesuma, SpOT, and dr I Made Iman Antariksa SpOT, along with their respective families. In addition, the resident association of the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology was represented by eight residents who accompanied and participated in this Tirtayatra event.
"Sada daridrairrapi hi cakyam praptum nardhipa tirthabhigamanam punyam yajnerapi wicisyate" in Kawi (Jaw; Kuna) is translated as follows "Apan mangke kottamning tirthayatra, atyanta pawitra, Iwih sangkeng kapawananing yajna, wenang ulahakena ring daridra". The meaning of the word is that the primacy of tirthayatra, very holy, is more important than the sanctification with yajna (yadnya), can be done by even daridra (the poor). With this activity, it is hoped that positive energy will always be among all beings. We hope the gift of purification may be continued to increase the spirit of togetherness between all parties in the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology.
