Continuing Orthopaedic Education (COE) 69 Makasar
The 69th Continuing Orthopedic Education (COE) Indonesia Orthopaedic Association (IOA) event was successfully held on 24-28 May 2022 in Makassar. The event organized by the Indonesian Association of Orthopedic and Traumatology Specialists (PABOI) carries the theme "Optimizing Orthopedic Services Throughout Indonesia - Facing the Free Trade Era" and was attended by doctors and residents of Orthopedics and Traumatology spread from various regions in Indonesia, including from the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University.
This event was officially opened by the Governor of South Sulawesi, Andi Sudirman Sulaiman at the Claro Hotel Makassar, Thursday, May 26, 2022. In this event, Dr. dr. I Gusti Lanang Ngurah Agung Artha Wiguna, Sp.OT(K) as chairman of the Indonesian Orthopedic Pain Intervention Society (IOPIS) also had the opportunity to give a speech to the participants of the event.
At this event, a workshop was held on 24-25 May 2022 at the Faculty of Medicine, Hasanuddin University, then continued with a symposium and exhibition which was held at the Claro Hotel Makassar on 26-28 May 2022. In addition, in this event there were also sports competitions such as tennis, basketball, fun run, futsal, jetski safari and golf.
The hands on cadaveric workshop program that has been carried out is knee arthroscopy and shoulder arthroscopy on May 24, 2022. Then followed by spine endoscopy and spine instrumentation on May 25, 2022.
In the symposium and exhibition program there are several programs carried out. One of the programs implemented is giving lectures from specialists. The program on the first day was giving lectures on upper extremity followed by hands-on ultrasound sonoanatomy of upper extremity. Then on the second day, there was a lecture of lower extremity and hands-on ultrasound sonoanatomy of lower extremity. The symposium was also filled by speakers who were experts in their fields, which was then followed by a discussion session. Specialists from the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University also took part as speakers at this prestigious event. The specialists who participated as speakers were Prof. Dr. dr. Putu Astawa, M.Kes, Sp.OT(K), dr. AA Gde Yuda Asmara, Sp.OT(K), and dr. I Wayan Subawa, Sp.OT (K)
On the second day, the IOA Presidential Candidates Debate was held which was attended by several specialists as candidates. On this occasion, Prof. Dr. dr. I Ketut Suyasa, Sp.B, Sp.OT(K) attended the event.
In addition, the event also held presentations of papers, e-posters and free paper podiums that were contested. The e-poster presentation is divided into several divisions, namely spine division, hand division, hip and knee division, oncology division, pediatric division, and basic science division. On this occasion, the residents of the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University won several awards, namely the runner up e-poster on behalf of dr. Putu Teguh Aryanugraha and third place free paper podium on behalf of dr. Sri Mahadhana.
