Community Services Cares for Early Detection of Diabetes Mellitus, Osteoarthritis, Retinopathy Diabeticum, Drug Administration and Reading Glasses to Jero Mangku, Orthopaedics and Traumatology Department, Faculty of Medicine Udayana University
On April 3, 2022, the Orthopedic and Traumatology Study Program together with the Ophthalmology Study Program and the Clinical Pathology Study Program carried out social service activities in Intaran Traditional Village, Sanur Kauh, South Denpasar to conduct early detection of diabetes mellitus, osteoarthritis, diabetic retinopathy and screening. giving medicine and reading glasses to the Jero Mangku. This aims to reduce the incidence of the disease in the future, and help prevent and treat the disease. The Orthopedic and Traumatology Study Program focuses on examining and providing medical therapy to patients, especially in the Spine and Lower fields.
The event was held at 12.00 WITA at Wantilan Pura, Intaran Sanur area, the target of the participants was Jero Mangku and local residents. The examination was carried out by screening for blood pressure and blood sugar, then, followed by a musculoskeletal examination by the teaching staff and PPDS of the Orthopedic and Traumatology Study Program and the Ophthalmology Study Program. The social service participants who had clinical problems were given medical therapy and by the Orthopedic Eye Health Sciences Study Program were given reading glasses for the social service participants who had visual impairments. It is hoped that this social service will further increase the awareness of social service participants about this disease in the future, and it is also hoped that good relations will be established between doctors from each study program, and good relations between doctors and local residents.
